AGOS MOAHI
Tenor Agos Moahi studied opera at the Pretoria Technikon Opera School. Shortly
after graduating he joined the Pact Opera Chorus for which he sang The Marriage
of Figaro, Dialogue of the Carmelites, Fidelio and principal roles such as
Rodolfo in La Boheme, Beppo in Rita and Alfred in Die Fledermaus. As one of
Gauteng's Three Tenors Agos sang at the Roodepoort City Opera, the Presidential
Guest House, the Last Night of the Nedbank Proms, a dinner for Minister of
Finance Trevor Manuel, the Alan Paton Awards and for the Mandela Children's
Fund.
Agos has shared the stage with well-known South African diva, Sibongile Khumalo.
He has performed at the Namibian Arts Festival and at numerous corporate
functions for clients BMW, Budget, Rand Merchant Bank and ISES to name a few.
His vast repertoire includes English, African and Italian songs, some examples
of which are Love Changes Everything, This is the Moment, Wonderful World, O
Sole Mio, Santa Lucia, Panis Angelucus, Pata Pata and Meadow Lands.
In 1994 Agos was awarded the Opera Foundation Prize and the SAA Prize for Most
Promising Young Artist. He won the award for Community Builder of the Year in
1999 for which he received a standing ovation from former President Nelson
Mandela.
