COLESKE
Brothers Ewald and Arnold Coleske formed South Africa's internationally renowned
singing sensation Coleske. When they were close to 10 years old the brothers
penned their first song and started playing electric guitar. In 1994 they
started recording other artists' albums in their home studio. This invaluable
experience contributed to the successful release of their debut album Coleske in
1996. Coleske, won a South African Music Award and achieved album sales in
excess of 350 000 units across the world. The album was released in 21
countries, went Double Platinum in South Africa and sold well in Germany and
Austria. On their 1997 tour, Coleske performed to a crowd of 50 000 in
Johannesburg and 18 000 in Cape Town.
Inspired by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Coleske wrote Uyangihlanyisa You Turn Me
On, a Zulu and English track which appears on their latest album Faith In Love,
featuring Mauritz Lotz, Kreesan, Lucky Dube and Suthu. Coleske's incredible
vocal range and polished musicianship is coupled with song writing that is
honest, heart-felt and courageous. Their global sound and professionalism is
inspired by Sting and The Police and their experience of living in the United
States where they witnessed the power and professionalism of big international
bands.
