DJ READY D
Ready D has been actively involved in Hip-Hop culture since 1983 when he was a
break-dancer for the group The Ballastic Rockers. He won the South African DJ
champion twice, in 1989 and 1990 and in 1995 he was a judge in the UK VESTAX
World DJ Championship.
In 1997 Ready D won the DJ of the Decade Championship. He has been featured in
various international and local DJ'ing and music magazines. He competed in the
Technics D.M.C. World DJ Championship and is rated amongst the top 30 DJ's in
the world. Ready D has recently returned from New York where he played in the
finals for the World DJ Championships.
Redy D played at the Presidential Inauguration of Nelson Mandela and the Quincy
Jones Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland. He appeared alongside POC in the
movie Dangerous Ground, starring Ice Cube and Liz Hurley. He is Master of
Ceremonies, DJ and producer of the group Brasse Vannie Kaap and also reviews DJ
equipment and writes DJ advice for music magazines.
