We have chosen to explore some of our favourite numbers from various movie soundtracks, such as Casablanca, Carousel, Love Story, The Godfather, Fiddler on the Roof ,A Star is Born, Arthur, An Officer and a Gentleman, Ghost, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Yentl, Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Flashdance, Titanic, Armageddon, Men in Black, The Full Monty, Moulin Rouge and many, many others, integrating them with memorable scenes and dialogue. As we move chronologically through time, we will enchant you, excite and inspire you as you remember with us those songs and characters that have carried us "over the rainbow"

MOVIES GREATEST MUSIC will appeal to audiences of all ages. Two of South Africa's foremost entertainers, CHARL VAN HEYNINGEN and LISA MELMAN (who first shared the stage in Richard Loring's smash hit " A Touch of Webber, a Taste of Rice") will transport you to another world with the most beautiful renditions of timeless, classic movie songs. They will be joined by the experienced pantomime and comedy actor ANDRE-JACQUES VAN DER MERWE as Stanley, the off-beat video shop owner. Beautifully staged and lit by the acclaimed FIONA RAMSAY, written with panache, style and humour by one of South-Africa's foremost directors and cinema experts ALAN SWERDLOW and with the highly talented JANINE NEETHLING (Fiela's Child) and brilliant newcomer CHRIS HARPER as musical directors, this show promises to be one of the highlights of the 2002/2003 theatre season.
