THE BROADWAY WEST END MUSICALS


Caught in the Act produces The Broadway West End Musicals, which takes highlights from the most memorable moments of musical theatre showcasing the talents of composers Sondheim & Bernstein, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Webber & Rice. The programme includes songs from West Side Story, Chicago, Chorus Line, Cats, Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, Evita and some of Broadway's latest offerings including Jekyll and Hyde and Rent.

The cast comprises of two to four vocalists, four to six dancers/ trax or a live orchestra. Caught in the Acts clients include the Ford Motor Corporation, SAA, Sun International, Nedcor, Suzanne Weil and Associates, Sunday Times, Volvo, Hollard Insurance, Barlow Motor Investments, Parke Davis, South African Breweries, Pfizer, Revlon, SAP, Decorex and more.


A TRIBUTE TO SIR ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER & TIM RICE:

Tells the story of the collaboration, break-up and present day successes of these two masters of musical theatre; featuring all their popular hits. With several box office winners to choose from, many of which are still running today, the show includes songs from "Joseph", "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Cats", "Evita", "Phantom of the Opera", "Sunset Boulevard", "Song and Dance", "Aspects of Love" and their more recent successes "Aladdin", "Lion King", "Aida" and "Whistle Down the Wind".

THE MOVIES/ HOLLYWOOD: [2 - 6 vocalists/ 4 - 8 dancers/ trax or live orchestra/ band]
A tribute to the music made famous by the movies in the style of the ultimate awards ceremony - The Oscars. Starting with the grand MGM Musicals "Guys and Dolls", "King and I" and "Sweet Charity" to the box office successes "Grease" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". Programme can include:
Disney Medley "Beauty and the Beast/ Aladdin/ Lion King" and award winning hits like "I Will Always Love You" (The Bodyguard), "Unchained Melody"(Ghost), "My Heart Will Go On" (Titanic) and "Body Electric" (Fame), Pearl Harbour "There You'll Be", The Mask Of Zorro "I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You", Grease Medley "Grease Is the Word/ There Are Worse Things I Could Do/ Magic Changes/ Mooning/ Hopelessly Devoted/ We Go Together", Saturday Night Fever ''Night Fever/ Stayin' Alive", songs from Coyote Ugly " Can't Fight The Moonlight, Right Kind Of Wrong"

SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY:

From the glorious melodies of Gershwin & Sinatra to the stompin' hits of the Motown era, "Sentimental Journey" takes you on a nostalgic trip, big band style. Programme includes tributes to the talents of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, The Platters, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and The Supremes with songs like "Embraceable You", "I Got Rhythm", "Under My Skin", "Lady is a Tramp", "Respect", "Baby Love", "Dancing in the Street" and "Smoke Gets in your Eyes"

THE CLASSICS: [3 - 6 vocalists/ trax or live orchestra]
A musical feast featuring well-known Opera Arias, Neapolitan songs and modern opera inspired by "The Three Tenors". Programme includes "O Sole Mio", "Nessun Dorma", "Libiamo", "La Donna e Mobile", "Funiculi Funicula" as well as Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of the Opera" and "Evita", and Bocelli's "Time to Say Goodbye".

POP GOES THE OPERA:
[4 - 6 vocalists/ 6 dancers/ trax or small or large orchestra]
A musical feast taking us from classic opera, to the rock musicals which were inspired by the opera and ultimately to a fusion of the classical & pop styles which has come to dominate the hit charts today. The show is performed with a cast of 6 vocalists - the cream of Johannesburg's soloists - and an 8 piece orchestra who synchronize their playing with backingtracks to give the sound of a full orchestra. The same material could be performed with backingtracks only (this would affect costs dramatically).

MTV LIVE:

A concert spectacular consisting of high-energy dance numbers in the style of a live
MTV music video. The songs run into eachother in television style format accompanied by
costume changes. Best performed by a company of 4 vocalists & 6 - 8 dancers featuring
hits by the hottest pop idols:
Destiny's Child, Mary Mary, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Britney
Spears, Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Madonna, Sting, George Michael, Elton John, Corrs,
Westlife, Tom Jones, Nelly Furtado.

DIVAS FOREVER:
[3 - 6 vocalists/ 4 - 6 dancers/ trax or live band]
A tribute to the woman in music, highlighting the most famous hits that have kept them at the top of the charts and the duets they have sung together. Presented in concert style - possibly with a live band on stage budget allowing. The cast will be made up of 4 - 6 phenomenal female performers, accompanied by male dancers.
Songs include: Cher - "Believe & Dove La More", Madonna - "Music", Aretha Franklin - "Respect", Celine Dion - "Titanic", Shania Twain - "Man I Feel Like A Women", Tina Turner - "River Deep", Diana Ross - "BabyLove", Jennifer Lopez - "Lets Get Loud", Brittany Spears - "Crazy", Whitney Houston & Mariah Carey - "When You Believe", Gloria Estefan - "Conga", Alanis Morrisette - "Uninvited", Finale: "Natural Women".
