THE REEL THING
The movies make us laugh and cry and in The Reel Thing you can expect to hear
the songs that keep their memories alive long after the last flicker of light on
the big screen has died. The Reel Thing will transport you back to that special
time when you saw that special movie with that special someone. Disney, Dirty
Dancing, Fame, Chaplin, Working Girls and Coyote Ugly will all be there. It's so
reel - you can smell the popcorn!
Your hosts for the evening are Helen Desbois or Vicky Friedman and Eve Meyer,
young, vibey and accomplished performers directed by Charlotte Butler. Helen's
CD single, Anything was nominated for a South African Music Award, Best Pop
Single in 2001. She appeared in the television series Honeytown and Daisy
Demelker, in Janice Honeyman's A Ladd and his Lamp and Ben Elton's Popcorn.
Helen is the sexy blonde who entered the Big Brother House as part of a charity
drive on 23 June 2002.
Sultry brunette Eve has a National Diploma in musical theatre specialising in
singing, ballet, tap and jazz. She appeared in the production Joseph and his
Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Richard Loring's highly successful The Best
of Girl Talk. She joined up with Paul Buckby in Paul Buckby and the Babettes.
Eve performed with the band The Worx in Mozambique.
Exotic looking Vicky Friedman, studied Musical Theatre at the Pretoria Technikon
where she performed in Cabaret, Candide and as the lead in How to Succeed in
Business Without Really Trying. Her professional highlights include Pinocchio
for the People's Theatre, Cinders and Her Fella for Janice Honeyman, The Best of
Girl Talk for Richard Loring and Annie at the Civic Theatre.

Take a Look at me Now, Shoop Shoop Song, a James Bond Medley with For Your Eyes
Only and Goldfinger, a Dirty Dancing Medley with Time of My Life and Be My Baby.
